Welcome

My name is Chris Wright; I’m a free-lance guitarist/musician. I’ve been a professional musician for the past 10 years. I’ve spent my time playing in various Bands, including performances on S4C and BBC television, also BBC radio wales live, writing music with other artists, for other artists and with my own bands and solo projects. I’ve had the pleasure of playing on some great stages including the London Astoria.

In 2000 I attended the Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford. Whilst at the ACM I was fortunate to be under the instructions of Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster, Eric Roche, Pete Callard and Andy Jones. Thanks to all for their constant support and words of wisdom. After receiving my certificate at the graduation ceremony I was asked to go back stage. I was joined shortly after by a guy by the name of Newton Faulkner, who was attending the college himself. Newton’s name was called out to front stage for an award. Shortly after, my name was called and to my excitement received the ‘Most Outstanding Guitarist’ of the year award. As a prize we each got given an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Sport guitar! Nice.

2008 was a rather insane year, playing with about 5 different bands at one point! With an increasingly busy live schedule with the likes of Alpine Butterfly, This River, Little Red Riding Hood, and more recently Amber Avenue. When I’m not playing live, I’m found teaching guitar locally, recording and writing in the studio, and doing various sessions for other bands. Check out my blog for more details and to keep up to date with gig dates.
